At EY’s event, the CEO of Potenttial Group argued that curiosity, developed into a professional discipline, is the skill that best prepares people and companies to work alongside artificial intelligence.

Mexico City, October 19, 2026. Engel Fonseca, CEO of Potenttial Group and creator of the Curioxoma method, was one of the speakers at EY Horizons 2026, the event organized by EY. Before an audience of business leaders, Fonseca spoke about what he considers the most important skill in the age of artificial intelligence: the professionalization of curiosity, the principle at the heart of Curioxoma.

Curioxoma: curiosity as a professional discipline

For Fonseca, curiosity deserves the same rigor as any other business competency. Curioxoma proposes training it, practicing it and measuring it, because it drives the ability to ask better questions, spot opportunities ahead of the competition and truly take advantage of AI tools. When AI can answer almost anything in seconds, the advantage belongs to those who know what to ask and why.

Scientific thinking as a business advantage

Another central theme of the talk was the importance of scientific thinking in business. Fonseca encouraged attendees to bring the habits of the scientific method into decision-making: observe carefully, form hypotheses, test ideas and learn from the results. This way of thinking, he explained, helps organizations adopt technology with sound judgment and turn intuition into verifiable knowledge.

From technophobia to technological curiosity

Fonseca called for replacing technophobia with technological curiosity. Fear of AI often comes from seeing it as something foreign, and he proposed a shift in perspective: thinking is technology. Human thought has always been our most sophisticated tool for transforming the world, and artificial intelligence arrives to expand it.

HTS + ATS = HTS+A: the symbiosis of thought

To explain that expansion, Fonseca shared a formula developed at N3 Labs, Potenttial Group’s artificial intelligence lab (in Spanish, SPH + SPA = SPH+A):

• HTS, Human Thinking System: the cognitive, ethical and methodological architecture of a person or an organization.
• ATS, Artificial Thinking System: the way an AI prioritizes, filters, processes and reacts.
• HTS+A: the hybrid system that emerges when both work together. The goal is for people to keep their judgment and intent while AI contributes speed and processing power.

Knowing your own HTS, Fonseca stressed, is the first step to complementing it with an ATS without handing over your judgment. Neurona Magazine has explored this framework in pieces such as Does an AI Carry the Bias of Its Human Creator? and How to Observe Your Mind: the HTS Map.

A robotics experience on stage

As in his other talks, Fonseca paired his presentation with live technology. Paris, N3 Labs’ robotic dog, shared the stage with him to show in a tangible way how curiosity and technology can work together.

Frequently asked questions

What is the most important skill in the age of AI, according to Engel Fonseca?

The professionalization of curiosity, the core principle of his Curioxoma method. It means training curiosity as a business competency in order to ask better questions and use AI with sound judgment.

What is Curioxoma?

It is the method created by Engel Fonseca, CEO of Potenttial Group, that turns curiosity into a professional discipline and uses it as a measure of success in communication, learning and business.

What does HTS + ATS = HTS+A mean?

It is the formula for the symbiosis of thought: the Human Thinking System (HTS) is complemented by the Artificial Thinking System (ATS) to create a hybrid system, HTS+A, in which people keep their judgment and AI amplifies their capabilities.

What did Fonseca propose in response to technophobia?

Replacing it with technological curiosity, based on the idea that thinking is technology and that AI arrives to expand that human capability.
